Sclerotherapy for Spider Veins
Sclerotherapy is an effective, non-invasive treatment for most leg vein problems, including spider and varicose veins. At the Vein and Cosmetic Center of Tampa Bay, Dr. Hunt and his experienced staff use ultrasound-guided foam sclerotherapy, as well as Endolaser vein removal to treat a variety of leg vein problems.
During a sclerotherapy session for cosmetic spider veins at the Vein and Cosmetic Center of Tampa Bay, tiny injections with a solution of either sotradecol, polidecanol or glycerine cause the unsightly, surface vein to almost disappear in front of the patient’s eyes. Patients can generally experience a 40% improvement in the aesthetic appearance of spider veins after each sclerotherapy session. Depending on the patient’s condition and cosmetic goals, Dr. Hunt typically recommends three sessions about four weeks apart, lasting roughly thirty minutes each, to achieve optimal results.
Dr. Hunt specializes in the treatment of leg vein disorders and conditions, and has achieved a phenomenal success rate in eliminating spider veins using sclerotherapy and occasionally lasers as a backup device for refractory red vessels. In addition to restoring a healthier, more youthful appearance to his patient’s legs, Dr. Hunt is also able to reduce pain and discomfort that is often associated with leg vein problems.
